In case you are unaware, there will be changes implemented by the BRITISH RESUS COUNCIL as from 2026 - the definitive date has not been identified yet. The main changes are surrounding basic life support primary survey drills.
At the moment a first aider should conduct a primary survey using DR ABC - once and if it is establised that a casualty is not breathing then the first aider calls for help then starts CPR.
This will now change to - first aider conducts primary survey DR - Then calls for help if unresponsive - ensures that help is on the way either from 999 or other source of help - then begins CPR or secondary survey if the casualty is breathing.
